With the release of the "14th Five-Year Plan", "carbon neutrality" was once a hot topic. Chinese people are talking about "carbon neutrality", what exactly is it?
In layman's terms, it means that enterprises, groups or individuals offset the carbon dioxide directly or indirectly produced in production and life through afforestation, energy conservation and emission reduction, and achieve zero emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. To put it bluntly, it is a solution to the greenhouse effect.
So, the question is, how to achieve zero carbon emissions?
There are four main ways to achieve zero carbon emissions: zero carbon energy, zero carbon transportation, zero carbon buildings and zero carbon life. Among them, zero carbon energy occupies the most important position!
In the "Building a Modern Energy System" of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the development focus of my country's energy in the next five years is pointed out: accelerate the development of non-fossil energy, adhere to centralized and distributed development, and vigorously increase the scale of wind power and photovoltaic power generation.
As a representative of clean energy, photovoltaics can truly achieve zero carbon emissions, and have the advantages of low cost, safety and efficiency, playing an important role in my country's energy transformation.

According to data from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, by the end of 2020, my country's cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity exceeded 250 GW, ranking first in the world for six consecutive years; polysilicon and module production ranked first in the world for 10 and 14 consecutive years respectively; polysilicon, silicon wafers, battery cells, and modules accounted for more than two-thirds of the global cumulative production. In 2020, my country's new photovoltaic installed capacity reached 48.2 GW, ranking first in the world for eight consecutive years.
It can be seen that my country has become the world's largest photovoltaic market, and this achievement is closely related to upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises. So, why do so many companies choose photovoltaics, and what are the benefits of enterprises installing distributed photovoltaics?
First of all, distributed photovoltaic power stations are built on the roofs of enterprise factories, and enterprises can adopt a self-generated and self-used electricity consumption mode with surplus electricity connected to the grid. On the one hand, enterprises give priority to the use of electricity produced by photovoltaic power stations, which reduces electricity costs during the production process, thereby reducing enterprise energy consumption. On the other hand, after the company uses the electricity for its own purposes, it can integrate the excess electricity into the national grid, which not only contributes to social electricity consumption, but also generates electricity bill revenue, increasing the company's competitive advantage.

Secondly, distributed photovoltaic power stations are mainly built on the roofs of enterprise factories, which revitalizes the fixed assets of enterprises and taps into and utilizes idle resources of enterprises. As a result, the idle roofs of enterprises are effectively utilized, thereby improving industrial efficiency and creating economic value.
Third, photovoltaic power generation is based on solar energy resources. During the power generation process, it truly achieves zero output of pollution sources such as dust, wastewater, waste residue, and noise. It not only contributes to the country's development of clean energy and the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, but also helps achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", thereby enhancing the brand image and influence of enterprises.
